Pamper Evening Routine

Since its that time of year, everyone is ready to relax whether it be because you need a holiday or you are currently on a summer holiday from school a bath is a perfect thing I find to de-stress and chill so I thought I would share my routine and the products I use.
For the bubbles I decided to use Zoella's Bath Latte which I have become addicted to! The smell is gorgeous and fills the bathroom whilst also feeling really smooth on the skin, I just poured this under the running water and a mass of bubbles formed. The smell is quite sweet but not sickly which I love and smells quite rich and chocolatey with a hint of almonds which sounds quite strange but its soo good!

Whilst in the bath I used the Soap And Glory Smoothie Star Breakfast Scrub which leaves my skin feeling super soft especially on my elbows and knees where I like most people are prone to dry skin. This again smells sweet and the scent mixes perfectly with the bubble bath. I also used The Body Shop, Grapefruit Soap which again smells like I just want to eat it!
I also did a face mask using an old favourite of The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Mask which I find is the perfect thing to not dry the skin out but prevent blemishes, I use this once a week and really see an improvement in my skin compared to when I didn't use it. Whilst in the bath I also read Dream A Little Dream by Giovanna Fletcher which I was terrified I would drop into the water!

Finally, when I got out of the bath I used the Soap and Glory Righteous Butter which is a staple keeping my skin super smooth, and it wouldn't be a pamper evening without Soap and Glory, would it?!

I then painted my nails, ate chocolate and watched a film... the perfect end to a night.

Afternoon Tea

One thing I always love to do is go for Afternoon Tea, a typical British pass time however once I found this beautiful cafe in my local area I just keep going back, whether it be for Breakfast, lunch or simply cake. This particular visit was a present to my Mom as I kept saying she just had to try it and being the wonderful daughter I am, treated her.

We didn't do the typical afternoon tea of scones and a pot of tea purely because I am not really a fan however when I saw Carrot Cake there was nothing I wanted more as you might know I am a massive fan especially since I found a recipe of my own (HERE) I also had a glass of Orange Juice whilst my Mom had a Chocolate Brownie and Tea. We both really enjoyed this nice afternoon out even if I did have to restrain myself of buying yet another slice as it was so good! I really recommend going out to a local cafe and if your a blogger like me the aesthetics in many are very instagramable but it is also a lovely treat to give a family member or friend.

Casual Summer Day

Summer, Heatwave, Playsuit Navy and White Primark, Newlook Sandals in Tan, Pandora Ring, Primark Sunglasses, Fishtail Braid, OOTD, Garden,
So a heatwave hit Britain! 32° C was definitely a shock to my system so out came the most summery outfit I could find yet I was still hot (typically British complaining whatever the weather!) however I bloomin' love this playsuit!
Summer, Heatwave, Playsuit Navy and White Primark, Newlook Sandals in Tan, Pandora Ring, Primark Sunglasses, Fishtail Braid, OOTD, Garden,
If you didn't already know I am possibly the biggest bargain hunter when it comes to clothes shopping with this outfit coming to under £20! Say what?! Yes, £20! Not including the ring I wear on a daily basis from Pandora.

The Playsuit itself is beautiful, bought from Primark for £5. The material is lovely and lightweight meaning it is perfect for the warmer weather whilst the navy and white is right up my street for the summer, however, there were so many different variations of patterns and colours available. I paired this with a simple pair of tan brown sandals which cost £12 from Newlook, I think they look lovely with the Navy and Brown together whilst being comfortable despite the fact I had a fractured & bruised toe (things I do for this blog ;) ) Then finally a pair of brown cat eye sunglasses which cost £2.50 from Primark and finished with a simple fishtail braid which I did a tutorial on HERE.

Carrot Cupcake Recipe

Apart from make-up, baking is one of my biggest passions and since I have had a lot of free time and the British summer weather has been more rain than sun I have been doing a great deal and what better than make my all time favourite cake into a cupcake.
Ingredients:
Cupcakes:
2 Large Peeled, Grated Carrots
100g Light Brown Sugar
80g Butter
80g Golden Syrup
2 Medium Eggs
150g Self Raising Flour
1/2tsp Bicarbonate of Soda
1tsp Ground Cinnamon
Pinch Of Salt

Topping:
140g Butter
280g Icing Sugar
1-2tbsp Milk
Chopped Walnuts to decorate

I began by preheating the oven to 180c and lined a cupcake tray with 12 cases before moving onto making the cakes themselves.

Combine the butter, sugar and golden syrup in a pan over a medium heat until fully melted then remove from heat and stir in self raising flour, carrot, cinnamon, salt, eggs and bicarbonate of soda (basically all the other ingredients) Mix this into a smooth batter.

Spoon into cases and cook for 20-25 minutes.

Once cooked leave to cool and make the butter icing by mixing the butter, icing sugar and milk.

Finally decorate and enjoy!

Travel Makeup Bag

As we are in the holiday-ing time of year I thought I would do some travelling post beginning with something I always read on other people's blogs otherwise I feel as if I lose my way and over pack a LOT! I always pack everything but the kitchen sink in every possible way with something for every eventuality but making it small enough so I don't need a separate suitcase for my makeup  (slight exaggeration).

Face

Tea Tree Pore Minimiser - This is my all time favourite face primer, it makes my makeup last incredibly well and makes makeup application so much smoother. It also helps fight/ protect from blemishes.

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation - This is my perfect summer foundation as it is very lightweight but still gives the coverage I need whilst not being matte but not quite dewy which is perfect for my ever so oily skin.

Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer - I don't like to put too much face makeup on whilst on holiday and tend to let my skin 'breathe' however this is perfect for highlighting and under eyes.

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder - I bet your all sick of me talking about this powder as I just never use anything else as this is just perfect! It keeps my makeup matte all day which is perfect especially if you are going to a place with a warmer climate.

Sleek Face Form Kit - When on holiday as I said previous I try to pack everything in the smallest way possible and a trio palette is a perfect way to save space, this one from sleek is my favourite as it's a great bronzer, highlight and blush at a very affordable price with excellent pigmentation.

Eyes

MAC Amber Times Nines Palette - If you want a better look or review of this palette I will link it HERE. I bought this as a little 'birthday treat' (that's what I keep telling myself it was anyway)! It has a beautiful collection of gold and brown tones and makes so many variations of day and evening looks.

Soap and Glory Supercat Eyeliner - All time favourite eyeliner! Perfect for just lining the eyes or doing a wing, this doesn't smudge or wear off throughout the day and is the eyeliner I reach for on a daily basis.

Rimmel Kohl Eyeliner in Sable - I love this for the summer as it gives a softer smokey look to my eye makeup which I absolutely love with a gold or pink eye. This is so blendable and lasts quite a long time on the lid but I wouldn't recommend for waterlines.

Soap and Glory Archery - Even though I do prefer a powder to fill in my brows, there just isn't enough room for another palette especially if it means I might have to sacrifice a lip product for it so I always opt for a pencil, this is my personal favourite even though the new Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil is a very close competitor.

Benefit Ready Set Brow - This is one of Benefit's newest releases and is an amazing eyebrow gel keeping my eyebrows in place to prevent unruly hairs and means makeup lasts even longer on the brows when using this which is a must in the summer.

Lips

Rimmel Kate Moss 01 - As my favourite drugstore lip products I always take one on holiday, this is my perfect red lipstick as it has slight undertones of berry and is perfect for the evening all year round.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream Milan - As my more nude shade (if you haven't guessed I take a red, nude and pink) I chose this as its moisturising even though it is matte and lasts and incredibly long time for a drugstore liquid lipstick. The colour is perfect especially for a tan.

YSL Matte Lipstick - This has become my Summer Staple Lipstick and brightens up any makeup look and really makes my lips pop, it's probably not a shade for those of you who aren't very adventurous but oh my, I love it! I wrote a full review (HERE) if you want any more info.

My Perfect Palette | MAC Amber Times Nine Review

I have wanted a MAC palette for as long as I can remember, everytime I went in store I would long for a hundred and one shades but I always put it off, mainly due to the fact they are bloody expensive in the UK and I wasn't entirely sure I would love them or maybe I would get fed up of collecting them as a ready made palette is just easier... Or is that just lazy? Anyway as soon as I saw this palette as a new release I knew it was the one to buy especially when it was knocked down from £30 to £25 how could I go wrong?

The Shades (left to right):
Cozy Grey
Kitties
Georgia Peach
Rice Paper
Creative Copper
Cork
Don't Tell
Aromatic
Pepper Please
This is a perfect collection of shades that I love with a great mix of frosts, shimmers an matte finishes. Overall they are very warm toned (which I love!) especially the middle row which has to also be my favourite trio of shades. I feel as if I can create any look from a natural day time, to an evening look meaning it is perfect to travel with however I do wish that there was a mirror!

On another note I'm not quite sure why this palette is called 'Amber' as it strikes me as more gold or copper however thats just me being slightly over picky! The longevity of the shadows on the eyes is everything you could ask for whilst the pigmentation of the matte shades means I only need the slightest amount whilst the shimmers are buildable with no fall out and even more amazing if used with a damp brush. This palette seems to have endless combinations of colours which are all extremely wearable leading to me being completely obsessed over this palette!

My New Hair | My Experience with Balayage

Brown, Balayage, Blonde, Hairstyle, Curly, Salon, Hairdressers
Brown, Balayage, Blonde, Hairstyle, Curly, Salon, Hairdressers
If you are following my social medias you may have seen I recently had my hair dyed, my first time ever! I decided to go with Balayage a technique which is becoming more popular for the summer but also means I don't have to go for those root top ups every 6 weeks which was the one thing putting me off from dying my hair.
If you aren't familiar with the term Balayage it's a free hand technique done in a salon creating a sunkissed glow that fades to the end of the hair with some pieces being lighter and others darker. I would compare it to a mixture of ombre and highlights. I really don't know why I didn't do this earlier it adds so much more texture and body to my hair which is one thing my hair really needed due to being so long so I am super happy with it!
When I went to my hairdressers we discussed the type of thing I was going for then she showed me a mammoth board of shades I could go for, I decided to go for shades that wouldn't go to brassy over time but still had some warmth as we felt that would suit me more than cool toned blondes. When at the hairdressers if you are thinking of getting it done it is probably easiest to show them a few pictures and then decide what's the best way. However, this can be quite expensive as it takes a very long time and a lot of precision however will last around 6-12 months or longer if you don't cut much off and keep it in good condition, it's definitely worth it!

June Favourites!

We are halfway through the year! Is this for real? Time has flown by, but it means here is my monthly favourites, I decided not to make it too makeup heavy as recently all I seem to have done is talk about my favourite makeup products when I do love a lot of other things however never fear for all you beauty lovers I have included some new discoveries!
Rimmel Kohl Eyeliner in Sable- I always go back to this in the Summer and this year is no different, it is perfect the fresh faced look as it isn't as heavy as a black eyeliner but can be used in the same way, I like to smudge it out around my eye as it makes a simple makeup look, look as if a lot of effort has been put in.

NYX Proof It Mascara- Summer is the worst time of year for my eye makeup as I end up with it all transferred under my eyes and it is really not a good look but some of my favourite mascaras don't have a waterproof option nor do I want to go out and buy waterproof doubles of them all so this has solved the problem, it is a clear top coat which locks in the mascara underneath and can be used with any mascara so if you have the same problem as me or just need something for when by the pool on holiday at £5.50 I would really recommend this.

The Body Shop Lip Scrub- I have always loved the Lush Lip Scrub but there are hardly any lush shops near where I live so when my last one ran out I decided to give this a go instead. It is a lot more travel-friendly having the product in stick form rather than virtually sugar in a pot however when on the lips it leaves a white/ green residue which means it has to be washed off otherwise is a bit sticky whereas the lush one sort of wore off and tasted a lot nicer, however, this exfoliates my lips much better and is only £8 and I can tell will last me an incredibly long time.

Nivea Day Cream- I wrote a post on my skincare routine a while back (link here) but I didn't include a moisturiser as I didn't believe I had found one that really did anything for my skin with some even making my skin worse, however, this cream is lovely. It has SPF so perfect for summer and is great underneath makeup as it is super light but makes my face feel more awake.

No7 Makeup Brush Cleanser- This is the first makeup brush cleanser I have ever used as I used to use Baby Shampoo a very cheap and cheerful alternative, however, this is so much easier for a quick clean. I squirt this onto some tissue then I just swirl the brushes in the solution and rinse under the tap and they are done! I wouldn't use this to deep clean my brushes, however, we all know that struggle when we don't have one million different eyeshadow brushes, we use a black eyeshadow and the following day you want to use gold but the brush is dirty so this just solves the problem as this is so much quicker than using warm soapy water and taking ages washing. This also leaves my brushes feeling soft and as good as new!

My Hair- Okay, this isn't as vain as you might think but I have been obsessed with my hair after dying the ends blonde, it's sort of ombre, sort of balayage, sort of highlights I'm not quite sure I literally showed my hairdresser and told her to work her magic and I love it. Head over to my Instagram (shameless self-promo) if you fancy taking a look.

Halter Neck Tops- I have been living in these so far this Summer and have more than anyone should need. I especially love the ones from Miss Selfridge as they aren't too expensive but such good quality whilst the prints are so pretty. They also look super cute with highwaisted jeans or skirts.

Always With Love- I absolutely love Giovanna Fletcher's work, where I fell in love with it in Billy and Me (review here) so when the sequel came out I was very excited as I loved the characters and the whole story is so heartwarming and light-hearted yet addictive. I couldn't put this down and I would very much recommend you read this. It would also be such a good holiday read!

Cadburys Medley- Last but not least this chocolate bar is making me seriously unhealthy as I can sit and eat so much of it. I love chocolate especially when there is something in it and what's better than fudge?! It also has biscuit pieces and dark chocolate chips. The combo is literally to die for.

What have you been loving this month?
